I saw this somewhere here on the forums and I've been trying different search terms with no luck.

Looking for the adapter nose cone itself, not a special mount or adapter kit, to adapt a tunnel trans to my '56 panelvan. The one I saw was machined from a solid aluminum billet that used the original rubber donut mount, selling price was $375 if I recall correctly.

Thanks for any help.

Anyone have any feedback who has actually installed this nose cone assembly on their early bus?

It looks like the ultimate no-hack solution for this popular transmission swap, worth the price if it solves any and all issues associated with the conversion to the later transaxle.

I'm interested in this also. It looks like a nicely made piece.

Yes there is a long thread **somewhere** in this forum. I cannot find it either..... When you do there is a lot of good info (and some very good parts) to satisfy the tunnel trans to early bus issues.

Wagenswest, jerfab and concept1 all make one. Pricey. I made mine for $6 plus the bolts. Completely bolt in and doesnt push trans back.

Not trying to hijack, but some more info for you.

Jason,

I've read your very helpful thread before and I think I'll fabricate those plates here in my garage and save myself about $400.

Sending you a PM.

Thanks, Bart

PDF files received, thanks Jason. Cool

Is 3/16" the correct material thickness?

Thanks again, Bart
