just fyi, there's lots of reasons why a fuel system will depressurize before you are able to pull the injectors to look for drips. it really has to be done with the injectors already out and the pump forced on. ideally with a pressure gauge attached at the port too so you KNOW the injectors are under the correct pressure.

The problem turned out to be the Idle Control Unit. Tried bypassing the unit and it fired right up! Haven't had any issues in over 8 months.
It wouldn't hurt to try! |
I had the same experience in my early '84. Easy to check and cheap to replace if necessary. |

Adding the Vanagon Syndrome capacitor will smooth the idle and make the digital idle control pretty much unnecessary. I probably bypassed mine at least 8 years ago and have never had a problem since. Adding the Digifant orifice to the breather hose will also improve the idle. |
