Actually, it doesn't suck, as now you know what isn't causing the stalling problem, and can now direct your efforts towards the real cause. Also, the reverse light issue virtually guarantees that the interlock switch is defective, as the same contact likely operates both the reverse lights and the starter interlock. Replacing the switch should fix both issues. Can't beat a 2 for 1 repair... |
It does. I pulled my autotrans shifter to bits when repairing/repainting the cab floor and sandblasted and repainted that too. Then the switch didn't work because a electrical crimp connector broke. The switch can be adjusted by loosening the screws and moving it. Also mine had a factory shim under it exactly like the shims used on the bottom sliding door roller thing. Trial and error until it works. |

Spring has finall Sprung and time to work on vehicles...only problem is I have THREE and all needing work!!! lol
In any event, I worked on the Neutral Safety on the bus. Both the white and mating black piece is extensively worn!
I replaced the white piece, but could not do the black as what I recieved as replacement was significantly different that the unit on the shifter!
In any case, the white piece was enough to do it and now starts in Neutral also!
I'll look into the black piece and replacing it at a later time if need be and appreciate the direction and support. Thank you! |
