Talking about the steel front emblem: I have one with posts that have the broader base like the ones from later emblems, and another with studs without a base (two of them seem to be repaired in the past).
Which one is correct for barndoor?

both. the thick stud like things are only washers rusted solid. I thought that my '53 had exactly that kind of 'shoulder' studs, but when it came out of acid treatment the little tubes just fell off. before that they were just frozen solid with rust. I would not try removing them with pliers or the like. give it 48 hours in vinegar acid and they'll come off. Wink

well, that looks so solid on the blue emblem, but now I will try to take it apart.

I believe I can even see where the blue paint ran down into the gap. Pretty sure they will come off!
