Hello, please, I have 76 westy, originally with type 4 2.0 CV engine ... now I have inside CU from T3 (almost the same engine). But it was built in by some idiot (sorry for that word), because it has space between tinware and bodywork around the whole engine ... SO I'm looking for solution, is possible to buy tinware anywhere or ?
Thanks for any reply.

Hi and welcome to The Samba!
I think if you posted some pictures that show your engine and your current tin setup it would help others to better visualize what you've got and then be able to better help you.
Good luck!
Update:
Actually, it seems you're asking the same question from about a year ago, which was already answered?

Unfortunately whoever installed that Vanagon engine cut away most of the sheet metal that surrounded the previous unit. It appears to have enough of the Vanagon tin in place to function so what you have to do now is fabricate filler panels from sheet metal to seal up the gaps. Since the engine moves you can't just screw or rivet metal across the gap, it'll have to be isolated with a foam or rubber seal of some sort. There is no premade kit for that particular combination. |
If nothing has changed, as hard as it is, I think that's the best answer you're going to get. _________________ '79 Westy, P22 interior, FI 2.0 l Federal, GE engine (hydraulic lifters)

I would PM Wildthings as he may be able to help you with the best solution. It may require you to source the original tinware for that engine. Good luck! |
