| My bug is a 54 and the front fender conduit tube the electrical goes through for the headlights doesn’t line up with the body. I was wonder if I could heat up the piece and bend it. Thanks for any info |

If it is an original fender, just bend it up to position. The headlight bucket can flex that little bit to get it back.
If it is a replacement tube or fender/tube (not VW original), then you will have to decide the best option. I would not bend the tube if it were me. I would trim it to the proper length, or cut it out of the bucket and modify. Both of which would involve welding. If it is the proper length, then you are home free to just bend at the bucket area. _________________ 1-0900722 die langsame grüne Schildkröte

Could I heat the tube up and then try and bend it? |

You can do whatever you think it would take to get it lined up. Ideally things line up. Lots of times they don’t because the car has been hit, the fender replaced, etc. Use your best judgment. If it is a little out of alignment, bend it. If it is far out of alignment, fix the issue or modify the tube to fit. _________________ 11/2/54 L227 Strato Silver L275 Light Beige Ragtop - Build Thread

There was an issue with the early production BBT fenders where some trimming was needed for the conduit tubes to line up correctly. See the second page of this thread:
