I'm shocked at the number of empty seats at Pittsburgh today as they play Jacksonville. This is a playoff game and the Steelers rule that town.

Did you ever think that sitting in the seats with weather in the teens (not counting the windchill) might be keeping people at home. It's no fun freezing your ass off in this kind of weather (we're at 14*F at the moment with a 5mph breeze) here in the Detroit area. This is actually warmer than yesterday's high. Laughing

Not buying it. I was there for the AFC Championship game in 2010 when the Jets were there. It was a Sunday night and with wind chill it was well below 0 and the place was packed. It was so cold my glasses, which were transition lenses, got frozen in the dark stage and it was night time. I had to go into a restroom to warm them up so they would lighten.

Attendance is down all across the NFL. The kneeling protest hurt.

My dad and brother went to the game. They werent too thrilled about leaving 75 degree weather to go sit in single digit weather. But they got VIP treatment the whole time so I dont feel bad. Always helps knowing someone on the team. Got to meet the coach and most of the team before the game.

That may be paid attendance, but from what I saw it wasn't actual attendance.

I was at a Mets game against the Braves. It was the last day of the season and it was a double header since it was a makeup game and both teams were not i nthe post season. It was cold and raining so i moved from the upper deck to the mezzanine. The "paid" attendance was 33,000, they were lucky 3000 there.

They're all looking at it wrong, ALL of those overpaid douchebags should be kneeling in front of the servicemen that fought & served to allow them the right to protest. Twisted Evil

That's correct...certain people are definitely looking at it wrong.

Ticket sales, advertising, and merchandising for the NFL is still very strong. There are some small dips in TV viewership but that is based mostly in online viewing.

Despite what some want to believe, the calls for a silly boycott because of some misdirected perceptions is not negatively impacted the NFL. In 2017 they will generate over $14 billion in revenue

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.....
And how did the NFL think they would fix the problem? By not televising the National Anthem. Smart move.....

Pittsburghers were afraid that Tomlin would not use QB sneak from 5 inches away, twice yet.

Or try an onside kick with 2.5 minutes left.

Or instruct his pass defenders to never even appear within the TV screen view of Jacksonville receivers !!!

Let's see how the NFL does when the habitual season ticket buyers decide not to re-up in 2018.
