Hey all,

Looking at a bus and noticed something off with the rear wheel arches. Any idea why or how someone might have removed them like this? I havent seen this before on other buses, have you? Kind of weird and you can still see a bit of the lip on each side.

It's what happens when those badass fat tires you just scored won't fit and there's a Sawzall handy, often accompanied by other "upgrades" as well: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=226066&highlight=jersey

Ahhhh......, Jackmans!
Yes!, your PO has already done the deed that requires the maximum level of pucker, now all you need is a few inches of lift, some meaty tires, a roof rack and maybe some funky curtains and driving lights, who doesn't dig a tasteful Baja bus? Cool

Yeah, scary......, but it's Banzai272's turd and he/she sounds somewhat proud of it so try to be nice Wink , at least it still has all of it's jack points and the remnants of the wheel well lips, could be far worse.

I don't know, those do look like Ebay photos, maybe it's early buyers remorse setting in? Confused

Well, if you insist,,2 hits ( blotter ) , purple window tint, Van Halen II on the 8-track. But no driving whilst afflicted.

I like this Bus more and more, and I'm sure it has problems that go with the character.

Had a guy in Arizona a few years ago suggest that I do just this to my van. He was dead serious about it. Don't think it would have done any good to point out to him that the hundreds of Transporters that have had this done to them over the years have mostly all been crushed by now, cause cutting them up like this is just a first step in turning them to worthless junk.

Seems that people just love to spoil unspoiled buses.

There is something about overspray on a jack point and torsion arm cover that tells you if one can't be bothered to mask with newspaper, the prep work underneath is ......(words removed)
