Hi All, recently fitted a Distributor with electronic points...has anyone experienced these going wrong or not working ??? fuel getting to the carb, solenoid OK but no spark at the plugs????
car just stalled whilst moving and then will not start again

Yes... they do fail. some sooner than others. install a set of points and condenser and that should fix your problem. _________________ Glenn

If you would provide more info that maybe of help diagnosing the problem.
Which brand of ignition system?
which dizzie?
did this dizzie and ignition run ok for you prior of not? if it ran ok prior, what if anything was done prior to failure?
Have your confirmed wires connections are correct?
Confirm full voltage at coil primary terminal? also make sure electric choke , fuel solenoid are not drawing down the voltage at coil primary.
I have had Pertronix brand ignition for decades with only one issue, when all four spark plug were removed, and engine cranked for a compression test, the Pertronix died. never crank the motor with the spark plug removed unless the pertronix power wire is removed first.

I like Echelin brand points from Napa the contacts seem to line up better. |
