South Sound/Olympia, WA area monthly meet-up

Alright Volks, It is that time of the month again. This month we are meeting at Brewery City Pizza at 5150 Capitol Blvd S, Olympia, WA 98501
5:00-8:00. Hope to see some familiar and new faces.

Well. That was a successful gathering last month. This month's will be Wed. Feb 27th at Triceratops brewing after 5:00.

They have plenty of parking so we can oogle eachothers vans between pours. Hope to see ya'll there.
So,

I've now lived in Olympia Washington for about 1.5 years. I see lots of vans driving around the area. As with other places I have lived there is usually a meet and greet once a month or so. That got me thinking..... maybe we should do that here. My thought would be to gather it in the evening after work at the Oly Tap Room on Columbia street. They have beer pizza and a public parking area run by the city which is free after 5:00 across the street. Other thoughts also involve locations with beer, but I am open to suggestions. Cars and coffee? We could even do some tech days and help each other turn wrenches. Guessing there are some gurus among us. Good network for swapping parts etc. Maybe an annual camp out or weekend drive. Just spit balling at this point, but how does the Last Wed of the month sound? Any takers on here? I am happy to do some cross-posting on our regional social media and drop off some flyers at the VW shops in the area. The more the merrier right?

I might be cajoled into a guest appearance, but only if I can stink up the joint with my ucky yucky Eurovan. My Vanagon has been relegated to stepchild status, but it'll earn its wings again. I do like beer, though.

Let's plan on the last Wed. Of the month for now. First meet up will be next Wed. The 31st at Oly Tap room. I'll be there around 5:00 -7:00. As this is short notice I am guessing it will be a smallish turnout. The following will be Feb 28 th. Maybe at Triceratops as they have a larger lot, but i need to confirm operating hours. Sound like a plan?

Looking forward to it. My wife really enjoyed herself, as did I. We've been together for nearly 25 years and have had seven VWs over that time, four of which were vans. Sadly, in all those years I've never taken her to a VW gathering. It appears that we're ready now.
