Hey everyone. Last night I placed my body on my car for the first time and all around it seems to be about an inch above the mounting tube on the chassis. I checked and it isn't caught up on anything. Could this be from the pan seal gasket? It is a new nostalgia body so there isn't any warp or anything like that.

Also, on a slightly related note, what would you use to mount the body? Bolts and fender washers?

New body, is it a new chassis too from Berrien?

Where is it touching, front and rear cross members only?

Pictures help.

Looks like it was painted with a live chicken, polished with a brick and buffed with a pine cone

I'll take some. And no. The chassis is a modified super beetle chassis which has the pans replaced with plate steel and 1x2 tubing.

I know part of the fitment issue is the air filter but I'll get some pics tonight.

Nice looking chassis.

Pictures of body on the chassis will help diagnose. Also, just to double check, sit body on level floor to ensure for some odd reason it is not pulled/warped.
