Neat to see the automatic transaxle brackets and mods.

Some more observations, recollections.

I bent the stock WBX bracket to line up with home made bracket on engine. I may redo the grey retaining clip at that bracket.

Barrel clamps holding Jetta cable to WBX cable have never come loose. (same for my other ABA swap).

IMO, for the manual transaxle swap, this bracket doesn't need to be so big. The bracket I made for my first swap, and bracket I removed from the 1.8 8V gas/diesel parts donor, were built to withstand the Hammer of Thor. Totally over built.

If I *ever* do another conversion (ha ha), I'd make another bracket like this but re locate the oil pressure switch to another port on oil cooler/filter bracket.

The grey home-made retaining clip fits tight to narrow slots filed into plastic on Mk3 Jetta cable, strap fits to notches filed into clip and bracket. If the strap ever fails, clip should stay in place for some time.
