I am looking for a way to test my Instrument Cluster lights(turnsignals, battery, oil, highbeams, backlight etc.)

Currently with the cluster plugged-in and key turned in the ignition, no lights get illuminated. Turned headlights on and tried the dimmer switch. I swapped out the headlight/dimmer switch with no luck either. I replaced the backlight bulbs with LED replacements, no luck.

Before I look into my vehicles wiring,
Is there a way I use a 9 volt battery or similar to test if the lights are working?

ok, how many threads do you need asking the same questions?

as I said in 1 of the threads, your car is a mess. as butcher said, you will need to buy the books that make up your car...1) for a mk1 and 1) for a mk3

there is no way for anyone here to really help with a swap like that....who knows what was done.

there is very limited testing to the cluster. 1 wrong wire the wrong way and it will burn up the printed circuit. the safest way is to pin out the harness that plugs into the cluster.

sorry, but it sounds like you bought a 1/4 of the way finished project. you have a pretty long road ahead sorting the swap

Thanks for the correction. I used to be a nice guy, then I ruined it by exposing myself to the public.
