was wondering if i can just partially detach the fenders in order to change fender beading, instead of pulling them completely off, and dealing with all the screws.
Thanks

I did it a long time ago to my Beetle, and I don't recall having to remove the fenders, although it would probably be nice to remove them so as to give the surfaces a thorough cleaning before putting the new beading on.
As I recall, the most troublesome part was getting the beading to sit smoothly in the space between the body and the fender without it either sitting too low or too high. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

Warm the beading with a heat gun first and keep it warmed as you are installing and bolting it down |
