Hi all,
I have a 1980 Mexican Panel Van that, as far as I can tell, is pretty close to a ~1974 Bus in terms of body style and parts. This is hopefully an easy question to answer but I haven’t been able to figure it out so far. Which is, there’s a bracket in the rear of the bus that looks like it might have held an interior rear light. But I’m not sure. I haven’t seen it in pics of other buses. Does anybody know what goes in the bracket?
Many thanks for any help. |

Called the head splitter, looks like it could really draw a lot of blood from the unwary. Other than that I haven't a clue. |

Doesn't look like anything VW put there, especially with that slot headed screw holding it on. Maybe an aftermarket third brake light? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I won't bet my life on it, but I recall something looking like that, that known as a torsion spring that held the rear hatch up. Come on fellow old timers, help a guy out here. |
