Lordy that name is a blast from the past.
I remember the threads well. I presume she sold up and moved on. Anyone thinking diesel conversions are easy should look up the 4000 + posts she did.

Good to hear that she's doing well. I hope she's getting some traveling done, and in a vehicle that she enjoys! _________________ Joe T.

Wasn't there a time where someone (maybe Terry K) thought Daizee was a hoax member? She did, at times. seem almost too awesome to be true. |

Tricky to get the full picture online, but my dealings with her reminded me of my favorite grandma "Fern"...
... all equal parts in turn: worldwise, naive & trusting, hilarious, overbearing, cryptic, sincere, whiny,
appreciative, etc, etc, etc...sometimes to extreme, but no ill will ever intended to anyone...ever.
In fewer words...human, quirky and memorable. Any of us could do much worse.

the poor woman didn't have the ability to do a lot of mechanical work and didn't have a lot of money...
then she bought a Vanagon
worse, it was a modified Vanagon IIRC
so, you can't really call her whiney
she also loved the thing but made the right choice _________________ .... |

Funny coincidence -- I was just thinking about Daizee the other day.
I met her (and her dog) once to help her out for an on-the-road repair. She was travelling in New Brunswick (Canada) and I live in Nova Scotia. I actually can't recall the exact nature of the problem, but it was causing her a lot of grief.
We made a plan that I could meet her in Truro, Nova Scotia. I grabbed my tools and meters etc and headed out. That is about an hour away for me and I assume it was about the same for her from wherever she was at the time.
The 'repair' took me about 5 minutes. Turned out to be a fuse. She swore that was the first thing she checked, and I believe her, but it was bad.
Anyway, it was fun meeting her -- she is a character and I admired her independence and attitude.

I think every non-mechanical minded new owner should read Daizee's trials and tribulations..
a story of perseverance and down right poor mechanical luck.

Ron I think she was on her way from Circle of Friends campout to Jeff's first campout in Chester. She was parked next to me at CoF's and said she would be exploring NS.
We have remained FB friends since. Best Daizee story was when her wheel came off going down a hill and she didn't crash thank God! Her little blind dog Munchkin was entertaining as well.
I don't know how that dog didn't get run over. _________________ '15 Audi A3 Quattro
