Oof. Bad weekend. While heating up the exhaust flange bolts I managed to start an oil fire on some old oil I didn't see. Ran over to turn on the hose and nothing came out (stupid freeze). As a last ditch I grabbed the extinguisher and gave it the quickest shot I could.
No damage from the fire thankfully, but I'm concerned about the chemicals in the fire extinguisher. I got the vast majority of it up, but a thin dusting got into the fan shroud. Is it time to pull the engine to clean it up?
Thanks. |

Well your weekend was certainly more exciting than mine.
I'm guessing is wasn't running when you dusted it?, thaw out that hose and wash it out, maybe even a pressure wash, that powder is corrosive, especially on alloy parts and electrical connections. Once it's dry empty a can or two of WD-40 or any cheap penetrant on it to help prevent future issues, wipe it off after it's had time to soak into things. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
