Hello, I’m welding in a new rear cross member and heater channel on the right side of my 65 bug. The panels that weld to the new parts, luggage tray, firewall, inner fenders, etc. are solid but I don’t have a sand blaster so I’ve wire wheeled them. I’d like to treat them with Ospho before I weld. Can I weld a panel that has been treated with Ospho?
I’m using mig |

I've never had an issue welding panels that I treated with Ospho. It only affects the surface of the metal, and I feel that it burns off during welding. _________________ scrapyards are for quitters
