greetings, I have acquired some assorted parts recently and seeking input to verify/ID what I have. not fishing just not sure of what I have. What I think I have is a short block from a Formula Super Vee. And a cam cover for the same. The block has the letter H cast into it and the numbers 049-103-021 and 4A83. rods and pistons look like they are race prepped. The cam cover has "Zeitler-Alsup cast into it.
Any info would be appreciated

The number that you have is just a casting #
Clean off the machined flat just under the word "GERMANY" to the far left in this pic & you should be able to find the engine #.

Those pistons definitely kissed the valves.
Kinda cool valve cover, I wonder how the put oil in the engine though. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Thanks for the correction. I used to be a nice guy, then I ruined it by exposing myself to the public. |
