I searched "check strap" and "door pop' and didn't get much info on this. Is there a fix or a thread someone can recommend where I can read about fixing this? It's very loud and cant be good for the part it's hammering on.

Sometimes those things just need some lubrication. Other times, they need to be rebuilt.
