The two thing that wear out lifter bores are how high the cam lifts and valve spring pressures.

So its rough on opening and closing the valves. I think i get it now. I didnt understand what you meant when you said it was a hammer/slammer cam. Now it makes sense. Thanks Dan for your information it is very helpful.

Yep

I am big fan of all the web 86 grinds and possibly jpm raptor grinds based off of what knowledgeable people have said and what the ads say. Costly stuff.

The old FK stuff is also good but I am not a fan of the newer FK4x stuff.

Mike,

I would email CB Tech with all your combo specs and see what they recommend.

I trust Pats recommendation as he has installed/dynod/supported a zillion cams.

Dan, your only experience with this grind is when you plotted 3% of the grind and sent it back to CB. Alstrup and Modock raised good points about your "findings" in your 2292 thread.

And cams with steep ramp angles. Like the engle VZ cams. They push the lifter heavily sideways into the lifter bore.

Like what? And the other 97% is very good but that 3% is very important unless you like a noisy engine, I don't.

I don't want to BASh anybody, but

Buying Web camshafts, you get 100% of the cam lobes, 100% of the time.

Ever decide on the cam? I say go with a Steve Long cam also. And SLR XR310 on a 106 lobe. About like a W125, FK10. Easier on the valve train. Quiet. Makes big power. 310 adv dur... [email protected] .558 inch lift as measured with my 1.4 rockers.
