Greetings All !
Since Bosch distributor cam lube is rare enough to be handed down through families, what about a reasonable substitute ? I haven't had much luck finding Mallory 26015 either. I've seen Permatex Dielectic Tune-up Grease suggested. Any thoughts ? Sorry if this has been addressed and I missed it. |

I run points in my 2 VWs, have not had issues with a small dab of wheel bearing grease on the distributor cam. I once had a tube of distributor cam lubricant I bought from JC Whitney in the 1970s, that's still around "somewhere". _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. Wheel bearing grease can be slung all over the place at high rpm. it's just not sticky enough.

I have always used GM distributoe cam lobe grease. Good stuff, but they stopped making it a few years ago. Thanfully a tube could last three or four mechanics several years. There is another product based off of that GM grease, sold on Amazon for 16 bucks. Probably last a single user a few decades. Heres the link;

Thanks for the tips !! Found some Standard Lubricam on Ebay for a good price. I must confess that I have been using standard lithium for years. Looking forward to improved points life now that I know better. |

Not Bosch?
Bosch is no longer producing their distributor cam grease, just teasing. _________________ Roads Scholar &
