So I made the mistake of ordering the '55-'59 cab floor mat available from WW. It's pretty much a piece of crap, and that's putting it nicely. It's made by Omega of Italy and it's thin, ill-fitting and some of the holes are the wrong size to boot.

Is there anything better on the market or am I SOL? I still have my original, but it's pretty thrashed.

Nothing better that I found a year ago when I was looking to buy.
I bought the WW one and then cut a section out of my old one to make a small section right under my right foot where the mats wear out first. So far it's held up.

Same here. From WW also, and compared side by side with the old one, the new one was thicker and heavier.

The Italian ones I have seen are thin!

I'd probably look for a real one... not sure what I would do if I needed a really nice one for a nice Bus.

Mine was delivered today ('59 and older style). I bought it from someone on the site and it's new. It says OMEGA ITALY on it and it's a little thicker and heavier than my original. The holes seem to line up fine, but it's about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wider at the edges than my original.

I'd love to find a really nice original one, too, not because this is so bad, but all about originality with me.

Try finding one for a RHD bus.

KK do the only one, its about 3 mm thick, no waffle back, and EXPENSIVE...

Just checked: 180 dollars.

I bought one for my '57 from West Coast Metric , not sure who makes it though. Holes all line up and seems thick enough.

Got this today. We could all do with more product reviews here.
Omega Italy. Good quality, heavy. Clutch hole needs trimming but all other holes line up nicely. ordered from EIS $150 I do recommend this current casting as being an adequate reproduction.

Looks like a nice mat.

The Omega logo looks like it would sand off leaving only the part number.

Looking at the pics I can pretty much guarantee you could do that with some light sandpaper and wet-sanding and buffing afterward to make it like it was never there.

Great pics, Kurt

That's the kind of thing I want to see. Really helps me decide on who to purchase through.

But how is the scent? I had to send a repro back. Even after a month the off-gassing was unbearable like hot sulfur tar.

This one smells great. I put it carefully back in the plastic bag so when it comes time to install it in "Funky Truck" he will have that "New Truck" smell!

I made the mistake and bought one of these, it is already on its way back to CIP.
Absolute garbage and about as thin as a penny. The only thing it has in common with an original mat is that it is a black color. Dont do it!!

Ive bought the Omega mats in the past and have always been happy with them.
