Great news!

One of the cornerstones of our color choice and interior color were a pair of Chrysler Town & Countey Stow and Go seats that we already have mounted in the Vanagon.

I pulled one out today and set it in the Ghia...... Home Run!

They even have built in folding arm rests for those long journeys when you want a little extra support.

My envelope arrived containing my "Transporters Auto Fabric - Jupiter" upholstery samples!

YES!!!!

I had ordered Tan, Shale and Parchment.
(Scroll down to Jupiter on this link)

https://sep.yimg.com/ca/I/yourautotrim-store_2269_174516862

Shale and Parchment were immediately rejected........ Too dark, maybe a possible accent / contrast?

The Tan is right there in the color family. While not a "spot on" match, it is so close that few would notice the rear seat being different if upolstered with it.

The color difference does throw my door card plans into a tail spin though.
They will be virtually touching the Chrysler seats.

Lose the fabric on the doors and go with a harmonious color blend of Vinyl or opt for a bold contrast?

Perfection isn't called for here. My Brown Vanagon dash components have four or five different shades of brown plastic! Shocked I have come to accept that just fine.

So........ Friday this arrives in a text from my Wife...... "can we do something like this on the Ghia?"

I'm not at all against it, properly coordinated it could be really nice.
I must admit that I've been stewing over door card ideas and haven't yet exclaimed "Eureka!”
Plus, She has a much better decorating eye than I.

Well, Dave, ... I have absolutely no idea what your wife looks like, but in theory it I suppose that it may be possible she's Hot enough that I'd be willing to put up with an interior like that in order to keep her Happy and "Willing".

Wink

Seriously, "to each their own" - if she love it and you can live with it, then go for it. Smile

Perhaps you can even incorporate some VW related fabric into the patchwork quiting?

You know....... we've been together for 47 years.

There was a day her nickname among my friends was "Dynamite".

But after half a Century has gone by...... neither one of us are considered "hot" by anyone. Shocked

There is however a depth to our relationship where I will willingly go the extra mile or two as needed to make her smile.

My daughter, who named my car The Krakken, and my wife both love the idea. I also have to admit it looks kinda cool in a "70s, hippie acid trip, groovy" sorta way.
