Thanks MorkC68
the question is actually double
on the one handI wanted to know what is the original because I might have it somewhere in all the mess of nuts and bolt I have
and then if not then at least the size of a good replacement

I understand you now. I cant nip out and check, our westy is miles away having its motor sorted, we only have the kombi, someone will know though!

thanks

anybody with its westy closeby could check it up for me?

Assuming you have the diameter from the existing mounting hole bracket. These are stainless and the length as measured from base of head to tip is 16mm.

Hi there
Still me fighting to get my bus back on the road
Today’s challenge is to replace the front door window seals
I must be doing it wrong but I can’t get the inner window scraper in .... the pins line up properly but no matter how hard I push they don’t “clip” (plus it is hurting to push hard on this metal pins!!!!)
Anybody has a tip for me here

Thanks a lot

Laurent

And the old

Should I try to shape the new so that it match the old or is it once in place that it will take this shape?
Thanks for your help

If I remember right, I re-used the old pins on the new scraper.

I read here and there that this was an option but some says that it is not
I don’t like the rusty part of my old ones though
Any other thought
Is there a way to insert it? Or a tool?

Hi there
Things are moving on the bus and as I was putting back the dash and rewiring things I moved the steering wheel which locked
I took the ignition key to release it and there I discovered the key wasn’t the right one
None on my keys would work!!!!
Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
Now I’m stucked!!
Will have to buy a new one but first how do I unlock it?
I have already removed the steering wheel and the turn signal but I can’t go further

Please help

Did one of the keys work previously?
Here's how to get the cylinder out: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=493026&highlight=lock+cylinder+removal

Thanks a lot busdaddy
To be honest I’m not sure if one worked
I never had to use them
But one was in the cylinder from day one and I didnt question it
I have all the other working keys
Thanks for the link
I’ll try it and let you know

One last question
I’m not sure where to drill
I read that you said “top of the left arrow” but I can’t get it
I still have the black plastic around the cylinder, how do I get it out?

I reused the old clip bar on the new inner scraper. The reproduction clip bar wasn't made correctly, and was never going to fit. When I laid them side by side, I could see the problem.

I have to screw back my shifter and nothing I have will fit in the hole
the issue is that it has been painted and i don't know if it doesn't get in beacuse of the size or because of the paint

M8X1.25, same as most other 8mm bolts on a bus. You'll want to remove that shift rod and clean out the pipe bowl in preparation for some fresh lube, the bushing it rides in likely needs help as well.
