I am installing a Vintage Speed Abarth Style exaust and a set of their J tubes onto my 36hp motor, is it necessary to run the shoebox lower cylinder tin?

I don't know whether this is supported by any science or testing, but I'd understood that the general advice was to keep all tins to aid cooling as envisaged by the factory. This is, of course, easier with the 36hp than a later engine, where the lower tins don't rely on the heater boxes and are 'free-standing'.
