in the wake of the photobucket mess, I thought that we were able to edit posts to fix the broken links?

just tried and got this:

You are not allowed to edit a post after it has been posted for 2102400 minutes. If you need to update a thread title or edit something critical, please contact the admin.

is it on my end somehow?

I think Everett made it a limited time opportunity.

I left it wide open for a while but since then I have been changing the max edit time as needed for people to fix older posts as needed.

PM me with the post you want to edit so I can see how old it is and I'll temporarily alter the max edit time, then set it back to normal once you are done.

I'm assuming you've already uploaded all the replacement pics here so if you haven't done that, please do that first to save time.

truth be told, I haven't. but, if you add ~original to the extension all the photos work. I did it in this thread here:

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=695496

if you'd rather not do it that way, I understand

I'd rather not as they might break that later

fair enough. I just wanted to see what order the photos were in rather than try and match up the code.

Do you mean you wanted to edit it to see the text you used in the original post?

Tip: You can hit "quote" on it and see the original text.

This gives you a screen to post a new message to the thread so obviously don't "Submit" that screen unless you want to add another post.
You can use "Preview" on the quoted post if you want to test out changes without submitting it.
