it's pretty easy to figure out. have you looked at the tech section here and followed the wiring diagrams?

hold the cluster to a light and you'll see what lives where or use a flashlight behind the cluster.

Have the cluster out. Currently rewriting entire Bu using a generic harness with blade fuses. My blinkers never worked before. It look like both indicators flash at the same time regardless of lever position. Is that right?

yes, they flash at the same time. I have worked on 1 bus with a harness like you speak of and it was a PITA to map everything out.

can I ask why a generic harness? a reworked OE harness works fine. in cases like this sometimes new doesn't mean better and can introduce a whole lot of headache

Wiring was an abortion. VW harness was too expensive (retired) I reworked everything-every switch. Harness came with 14 circuits and blade type fuses. Cost 89$. Plus about 15$ in term. And heat shrink. Should be done tomorrow and no more gremlins!
