It's been awhile Samba. I'm so glad to be back!
I picked up this 69 last week. Tonight I went picking at a friend's place who has 2 parts buses. I got a few things I needed, including a 3 rib transmission and a complete engine that needs put together. I'm going to pick those up next week, along with new tires...and build an engine in the dining room. That'll be new. After that, we are going to cut the cargo floor out and weld sheet metal down. The passenger side it already cut out, funky green is ordered. There's a local shop that will make bends and everything for you, so cargo floor will go in smooth. I've got a huge parts list including disc brakes, suspension, por-15 (lots and lots of por-15), and new lines all around. Here we go!

Awesome bus!! Sounds like you already have the whole plan laid out! I'm guessing it's a westy and the roof is just strapped on funny? |

so, you post on a public forum that you're going to commit fraud to save that pile?
you may want to read this, and rethink putting a penny into that parts bus

yes....she said the 69 had no title or vin, but a 70 parts bus had a title and vin, so she picked that stuff up
not trying to shit on anyone but here's the deal....
chances are someone snagged the VIN/title from her parts bus...so another bus is out there being misrepresented.
of all the times I didn't do a quote or screen shot, the body of text was edited
whatever.... _________________

Yeah Gabbs Be careful about that. In my state , mere possession of a loose VIN plate is a crime _________________ .ssS! |

so the thought may be that the red 69 is missing all stamps and vins because someone else took them for a different bus? Damn. SO just to confirm with Gabs, the red 69 is indeed missing all traces of a vin and no m plate? so no dash, no engine compartment vin stamp? ( I dont know early bays and stamped locations, gust guessing) |

that's what I was led to believe...not sure why they're missing, but she did post that they were. hence, my post
honestly, I would start with a better bus. that thing is pretty rough _________________

Skills, do you anticipate a time when a ‘69 bay will go for $100k plus at auction? Just kidding, no need to answer. _________________ If you haven't bled on them, you haven't worked on them.

save what you can before you crush it (if that is in fact what you're going to do)
I have seen you pop up in the forums from time to time and thought your heart has always been in the right place, but the bus you have (at that time) is just in need of way too much.
as always, pay up for a good bus....don't settle. I also seem to recall you're in the service. thank you for that _________________

Vehicles with missing VINS can be receive a state assigned VIN through an inspection process. Its a bit more work but worth it as the value of these machines increases. The paperwork is easier than than the rust repair!! Soldier on.. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |
