as far as a sleeping platform goes - you can easily make a slide out piece on the tin roof to mak a full sized bed up top.

That front rack with spacers will need to be cleaned of debris every once in a while (underneath [img]- between the rack and the tin roof) or you can end up with a water carrier that will rust out your gutters-

we had to replace the entire roof clip.

Yes, it's the same, took me a lot of hours to get to this. Also redrilled the holes for the eye straps. Ik ordered new stainless steel ones, but the holes didn't line up with the old holes so had to drill new ones.
Also had some new bars made from aluminum, to replace the old rusty ones.

Didn't do much to the roof last week, but some nice new parts arrived 😎

Also a picture of the bars for the luggage rack, made them of aluminum.

Sorry it took me so long to grab a few photos of these:

I would say the “puck” is 2” across, I was having trouble holding the tape measure and my phone for the photo so it looks just over 2” but my tape wasn’t at the edge.

Where you get the aluminum bars? If you made them would you be interested in making a few more?

The material, is it some sort of hard rubber? Or plastic?

I think it is very dense rubber. It is very hard and not very pliable. You might be able 3D print a replacement or find a suitable hard plastic for outdoor use. I would think a hard, dense rubber or hard plastic would both work for a replacement. Good luck!

I made the aluminum bars myself with some help from a friend at the local metal shop.
I started with normal aluminum tube, cut to the right length and then used a pneumatic press to close the ends.
I will drill the holes when i install them on the luggage rack.

I won't mind making some more, but shipping might be expensive.

Still having trouble finding springs for the poptop.
As far as i know i've got the right dimensions to make new ones, but every company i asked tell me the springs won't be able to stretch far enough in the dimensions i've given them...
If i measure my frames correctly the springs should stretch up to about 80 cm (32 inch) when you close the poptop.
The spring companies told me that if i stretch the spring that far, the windings will be stretched so far they will not close completely anymore.

Anybody got an Idea?

Working on the rear part at the moment.
Previous owner took out the old wood, replaced some of it, and put in a new layer of fiberglass.
Sadly he didn't do a great job so i need to repair some areas.
Also trying to straighten the roof cause it's sagging a bit in the middle.

So now for the questions 😋

When the top is closed, does the rear roof section overlap part of the luggage rack?
Could someone post a picture with some dimensions?

These are the side profiles of the weather stripping seals. The top seal will be attached to the rear section of the pop top where it will overlap the luggage rack when in the down position. I removed the old trim piece shown as a white plastic in the photo in my previous post and replaced it with the top pictured rubber seal.

The other two seals will go around the rear section and luggage rack. You will also need a seal between the metal roof and luggage rack.

Also didn't know about some of the rubbers.
I've got some with it, but the one on top in your picture is not with it, and that sure looks better than the one i've got right now.

Next job, rebuilding the wooden frame in the poptop, and some repair work to the fiberglass.

A friend of a friend works at a local company where they make the resin and all other stuff needed, so got some advise and all the stuff i need.

The wooden pieces are glued in, today put some fiberglass on it for extra strength.
Had to build a tent over it cause the temperature wasn't good last few days. So put an extra heater in the shed, did an excellent job.

Been a while, done some more work on the poptop.
Put in the new headliner and gave it all a coat of paint.

Today we turned the roof so i can do some work on the outside and paint it.
