ive read a lot of post on here on rear bearings but cant find nothing on how to remove inner axel or bearing seal.1971 sb.

The inner one is usually the one that needs replaced since they rarely get greased. Been quite a while since I did one, so bear with my memory. You need to push out the stub axle. I like to clean up the lip on the axle that goes around the seal since they are usually chewed up some. Pretty sure the seal itself is easy to pop off. Also there is a spacer tube that runs between the bearings...The one thing I missed the first time I did one was there is a snap ring holding the bearing in place that needs removed before you try to tap the bearing out. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.
