I was wondering if anybody has used the cheap and available everywhere rear engine tin that has the heat riser holes cut out from the thin sheet metal as opposed to the stock rear engine tin that has brackets for heat riser tin and insulation....

I guess the question is will the CIP1 version with the heater cut outs and heat riser cut outs work fine for a stock replacement....

No cheap after market part will ever compare to a restored original part.

Sometimes Cip sell some OE Mexico stuff. Is that what you are asking about ? That will surely be better than China made. I’m sure the classifieds are full of OG tin you want. Some elbow grease and rustoleum will be worth it in the Long run though.
