What do you guys do to drain the water out of your Buggy when it gets in?
Just recently I checked out 2 Buggies a fellow had for sale, pulled back the floor matts and was very surprised to see the floor pans in quite good shape considering they were from the link pin era. My floor pan is a '72 and nowhere near that nice. Then I noticed both pans had four "C" shaped cuts in them and the metal was pushed down an inch. The openings were to the rear. "What a shame to spoil good pans like that, now someone has to weld them back up!" was my immediate thought.
Then he pointed to them and told me he did that for drainage to keep the pans dry and help make them last. Looks like it worked!
Now I'm thinking that he is pretty clever.
Thoughts? |

Wise old electrician once said, it's easier to let water out than to keep it out. _________________ My cut in half and rebuild thread

I always drill a couple of 5/16 holes in the lowest part of the floors to drain water.

Yep, drilled a couple 1/2" holes in the pan. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

The water drained out the rust holes in my pan, no problem! |

I do have one spot that the metal termites have helped out but I do like the idea of making "bend down" tabs for drains. It would stop the water from coming in from the bottom when driving in the rain. |
