There new main diaphragm assembly they sell with the Effbe on the diaphragm material has the correct spring assembly. It's as good as a NOS Effbe diaphragm.

However, if you're rebuilding a square top, many parts in the kit are incorrect. The outlet valve retainer is too small. The upper diaphragm spring is a bit too long so I reuse the originals.

Guys, wanted to update this thread. I took measurements of the pressure put out by an original square top fuel pump rebuilt using the wolfsburg west kit, this is the kit AFTER they adressed the quality issues that popped up before. The main diaphrahm IS effbe.

2.5 ish lbs. Jives well with my dual solexes. I did rig a "bleed off" line for the pressure between pump and carbs to be relieved to the pump inlet side of the circuit. (Low pressure, tank to pump side.)

I ran at least 5 gaskets and a homemade shim on my blow thru carb turbo to get the cruise pressure down to 2.5 lbs.
I then boost referenced the bottom of the pump and ran it for two years and up to 13 lbs boost.
I never noticed a fuel delivery issue caused by the pump volume.
