Where does one find a pop-top tent in orange, like the early Westies? Are other colors available?

Thanks!

Almost all the vendors sell tents in various colors. Check out Go Westy, Van Café, Rocky Mountain Westy, Bus Depot and others I forgot.

I tried the usual sources, but it looks like only tan and grey is readily available.

I like the variety of colors from N Westy, but they look a little baggy in the pics.

As Dobryan said:

http://atelierspk.com/west_english.html

A long waiting list, but highly respected. Wide selection of "Sunbrella" and "Odyssey" colors. Definitely not baggy (install photos on site).

Pierre just shipped mine in yellow. It'll be awhile until I can get it installed.

That may be a good alternative.

Does anyone have any feedback on their product?

The Bus Depot's Yellow Acrylic Tent is really nice.

I have in my 1985 and it really makes the interior a brighter place even with the beige and brown cabinets.

I agree with the Orange as well, I probably would have purchased that color if it were available (have it in my 1973 Westy)

From the master tent options topic, Ateliers review threads:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=398803
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=495271

Already mentioned, but NorthWesty also makes tents using custom colors, including orange: http://www.north-westy.com/sunbrella-colors . Review thread: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=550506 .

I seriously considered a yellow tent canvas due to this thread:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=373314&highlight=wolfsburg++westfalia++yellow

Then I lost my nerve and went OEM, thinking that I'd be camping in mostly brown Colorado dirt and it wouldn't show as much on the tan tent. In retrospect, I wish I'd gone with a brighter color just for fun's sake.

My Van is going to be pretty austere and white-ish. The top will be a surprise!

If your van looks sorta OEM in general, a color that's non-OEM (or can't be 'construed' to be OEM) will
probably reduce value enough such that it's cost-effective to re-replace new with an OEM color.

If you ain't sellin' (like MANY here) then you have to choose the color you WANT.

I bought an "OEM canvas" (except 3-window) from GoWesty 10 years and posted a replace canvas thread. It's still fine, but it's THIN. And the zippers are TINY. It worries me that they will fail or rip at the zippers. Or someone else will tear off the zippers. But it's 10 years old and looking good except for one little hole rubbed thru where I put heavy weight on the rack and did not FIRST verify tent folds were clear of the pinch point.

I ordered a custom color from North Westy. Tresco Birch? It is sunbrella fabric. I just read a couple threads of tents not fitting. That scares the crap out of me! I have my OEM one and will compare. I think baggy tents you could remedy, but way too short could really be a problem. Anyone else have North Westy tents? I liked the fabric and the way they designed theirs. A 'no fit' on a custom order... That would be devastating! Sad

I have one from NorthWesty and I love it. Its sunbrella and although its not as taut as the OEM tent was, it really isn't very baggy (it looks better than in the pictures). The quality is great and having the 3 windows and the stout zippers was worth the upgrade.

That is great to hear! Yeh, I forgot about the zippers. You can see how beefy they are in just some of their random pictures. Once I stumbled on to them and their tents, I knew that is what I was going with. Thanks for the encouragement.
