What is the little icon supposed to represent? I know solid green is unread, etc.. But that the heck is the object supposed to be? It's not like the other icon indicating an unread thread, which is a common icon for a rectangular page with a turned down corner.

That's the one. I just made it bigger in hopes it would be more apparent what the icon is a picture of... is it a page in perspective view maybe?
Icons usually resemble some real-world object, but I can't tell what this one is supposed to look like.
I really shouldn't care, but once I notice it, it bugs me! |

Ok, I misunderstood what you meant - I thought there were 2 green icons that looked very similar and you were confused about what the difference was between them.

The icon you posted IS the icon for an unread thread.
As far as I can tell the the green one is the same as the non-green one, except for being green.
They are both pieces of paper.
Maybe re-word what you are asking?

I don't think it really works for unread though. More like "new or replied to since the last time you visited thesamba"
I never visit the carebear forum. Yet only the top 4 are lit up

Here is what I am talking about:
There are four icons in this screen snippet. The two on the right (one clear, one green), are clearly a piece of paper with the top right corner folded down, a common style.
The two on the left in the circles are different, but maybe also a paper with a folded edge, just larger and in perspective view.
It is the left side ones I had wondered about, since it's weird it would use a strangely different but similar icon.
Just stupid trivia that had me wondering. I need to get out more. |
