Sorry ya'll, still learning this site. I was looking for threads/links on the best way to polish/clean these. Heard an aluminum foil rumor that cleaned and deposited it back on rim but could not find it. The best I have seen was WD40 & steel wool. This is not a show car and I will keep my chrome waxed after cleaning.

Gracias Amigos.

That one looks really scratched up but I usually use #0000 or #000 steel wool and it removes all the little surface pits I see there.

I follow that up with some chrome polish

It won't remove the massive scratching I see on that cap though.

I agree with Everette there. Your hubcap looks to have been cleaned with too harsh an abrasive. No way it’s going to shine up.

For chrome plated surfaces, an Oxylic Acid bath is great. Followed by some 0000 Steel Wool

Lemon Juice will dissolve rust on chrome.

Anybody ever messed with some of the "chrome" paints that are now on the market for something like hubcaps? talking about Pchrome or similar..

NeverDull is another good product to use after using steel wool.
