Well the guy who got me into VWs....

...is on the last days of his time here with us. Morphine is up to 3x hourly.

If planes, Saturn V, lunar lander, and Space Shuttle made you dream big like me, take a 1300cc beer on me this week.

93 years old from the depths of poverty in the Black Country , Tipton, UK, RAF, a long career of things that fly in air and space, a love of all things that flutter and shake, and parent to boot.

Safe landing, Dad.

Sounds like an awesome man and father. Which makes sense. Because you are as well. “The apple didn’t fall far from the tree”

So sorry to hear. I went through the same thing in 2016 with my Dad. Still hurts. Prayers for you.

Sorry to hear this but he sounds like a great dad. I lost my 94 yr old dad in Dec and he fought in WW2 and liberated Paris where he spent most of his time.

So sorry to hear this news. Sounds like a good dad. My father passed away 23 years ago and there is not a week that goes by that I wish I could have 1 more conversation with him.

Peace to your Dad, and peace to you and your family.

Sorry to hear that

Gather your family close and be there for the last- When my Dad died, the whole family was there and his last words were "It's good to have family"- we never forget.

Thanks guys. Im on the east coast, but at peace with the idea I may not be there with the rest of the family. I had a firm premonition last Fall that this was the last Christmas and was flying EWR to SNA weekly so I got the time that he was still aware, that time has come and gone.

Be kind to each other.

Aloha

93. Solid. My grandfather made it that far as well; he was happy for the life he had, but a little pissed he would not see 100. Love and good roads to your pops.

I lost my dad over 5 years ago .
He was only 67.
I miss him dearly, but I take Solace in knowing his pain is over.
Spend as much time with him as you can
I got one last weekend with him before he passed and cherish it deeply

Pilots are an eccentric bunch and as a rule very accepting of others. Find it interesting how many pilots are in to ACVW's.

May he pass with a smile for a life well lived. Wink

If I ever meet up with you we’ll have to go down the pub for a pint. “ Go on then.” I hope it’s a smooth transition for him. Our best to you and your family sir.

It’s a date, Tom, on my next travels.

Dad passed peacefully last night, surrounded by love. I had a feeling Time was short last fall and made the most of it.
