Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Thanx guys !
Sorry to say that I have been very busy otherwise and also considering the pandemy crap, but I will hopefully be back on the project by mid October.
The chassis is alive and well and got some more ideas, that I want to proceed with. I will be updating the thread in case. _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

It's a 64, last year for the P3. love my little Taunus! Nice driver and direct rival to the Type 3 Variant squareback. (Taunus Turnier came first for '61 Model).
I also once had a 66 Variant, and I want to say they are both great cars from that era.
back to the chassis setup. And isn't it interesting that what appears to be a flat slabsided bus sidewall panel, in reality is a very crowned and slant surface ( see cross-section. red line is vertical). I believe it's details like that, making our early Bullis so pleasing to the eye. They are not just a sqare box on wheels.

interesting, is this somewhere close to the planned seating position? Looks like you will have all kinds of interesting problems to solve. _________________ regards

That might be the case Uli. As I mentioned before, I like to approach this like a prototype, experimental or hot rod build if you will. Like all car/coach builders in the 1930s to 1960s they built interior mockups, die typischen 'Sitzkisten'. they were car interiors, seating position, steering wheel and column, dash, pedals, wheelwells, switches, windshield... thats the way they designed that before ever having the full car available. My belief is that a car is only so much fun, as you like to sit in it. I don't like raised steering boxes/wheels, raised seat bases, thick upholstery or such things. _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

i hope you share your thoughts, i would love to think along....
FYI, i could easily imagine a 32 ford, tudor sedan delivery (with windows), chopped just a tad, but with 3 window coupe doors (suicide), 8 inch or so stretch to make room for a straight 8 (buick or so).... i really like to plan out all kinds of details.... i really like what you are doing here.... _________________ regards
