Newer, larger kitchen drawer in older van?

That modified drawer looks great. Can you provide any details on how you modified your early drawer? I've been looking for a larger one for my 82 for years and have contemplated modifying mine. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hubby built the drawer using 3/16" birch for the sides, and 27mm utility plywood for the bottom/floor. He replaced the wood slides inside the cabinet with 1" to allow for the drawer slides. This allowed the drawer interior to be as wide as possible. We were reskinning our cabinets when he built the new drawer, so he was able to glue and screw the new drawer to the original drawer front, then cover the drawer front with the new black formica (after stripping off the original "wood grain" formica). The white covering is contact paper, and the purple is just non-slip shelf liner.
