I think this SO23 didn't have an ice box cabinet. The hooks for the web are in odd places

Wow the cargo floor looks way better than I thought it would. Some areas looks like it needs more work, but all in all not too bad.
I wrote you back in your PM. Let me know if I can help in any way. |

Some of the camper interior... the back seat cushions are pretty toasted but the springs are intact. The base is trash. No forward seat cushion or base. Have the cargo door table tho! And hardware for the driverside cabinets!
'J' channel for the side panel?
Mount for the curtain rod that separates the cab?
wiring for the lights
Table mount?
Marble linoleum
interesting washer for the screws that held the paneling

I'm going to need a lot of wood pieces and the engine-turned aluminum trim around the hatch, plus a stay rod
dash looks like it will buff out nice. I haven't gotten into the front cab because the front doors handles are frozen
All in all I'm still stoked about bringing it back to life. There is nothing I've seen that I can't deal with.... _________________ "My ex-wife had a hint of a beard and she looked like a manly-girl... that made no difference..."

That floor! I can't believe it! It's too bad the bulkhead curtain rod isn't still attached to that bracket. I'm curious about the table mount too. Hopefully some folks with more early westy knowledge will be able to clear up some aspects of the interior.
I hate seeing those beautiful curved corners on the bed base and cabinet turn to rotted wood but such is life! _________________ Oil Capital Air Cooled

Dewayne, I certain that you will do it justice and correct, just alone by seeing how you treated the D C, and you now have that nice cash flow from it's selling..I will be watching the build
Thanks for sharing the find of "buried tresure". It's amazing the shape of the body from the psi of the soil and roots it had to contend with..

As an A23 it likely would not have had an ice box and the position of the cargo net hooks seem to confirm this. Looks like a great project, quite solid in some areas.
Do yourself a favour and save everything, even the crappy wood you don't think you will use. The price of everything needed to fix that SO23 will scare you, anything you can do cut down sourcing westfalia-specific items will save you money. Please update the thread as you go along and ask questions. |
