I try to do something everyday.
Even project end items, those little things at the end which suck up days and weeks when all you want to be is FINISHED!!!
I pulled this grill off last week to make a "how to" for a member.
I was going to slip it in a baggie, label it and throw it in a box, then I thought, "small easy job, let's clean the sucker!"
It had been primered, painted in spots and a healthy forest of green is growing on it!
A shot of bleach to kill the green growth, a soak in a vat of lacquer thinner followed by a green scotch brite dipped in brush cleaner.
I ended up carefully removing the grill slats for a good cleaning. Doing this also allowed me to set the slats on a flat bench and gently massage them back straight.
Followed by a scrub with Simple Green and a rinse.
Once dry it will get a few coats of clear laquer and I'll reassemble it.
THEN it will go in a marked Baggie......
Perfect?
Far from it!
But very very very much improved!
