I had no idea what the engine was, but that's exactly what I though you did for the gearbox. Nice job!

There is a workshop with a lathe, a milling machine. All kinds of welding. It helps a lot.
We do not have such machines in good condition. Very heavy operating conditions. This Vanagon looked for a very long time.

You're right. Unfortunately in our country there are still bad roads. But recently they have greatly improved. Or I will learn not to drive on potholes. Or I'll wait when all the roads are perfect. Do you think what option will suit me?

So... Does that trans rotate that way from the factory or did something get flipped to rotate in the right direction?

Of course not. On old Honda engines had a left rotation. Primary shaft, too. Now the motor and the primary shaft have a right rotation.

How was the transmission rotation changed? Did you flip the ring gear? That motor is not likely easy to find here, but that trans is bound to be fairly common. If it is easy to flip, a lot of people might look more.closely at using inline four swaps.

How strong is that trans? Hondas are pretty light. Can that trans handle both higher horsepower and a much heavier load than it was designed for?

Me too…seems like there are a lot of unexplored options there.
