|
|
I had a rebuilt valve body installed in my 02 Winnebago Vista 21B (Eurovan chassis and drive train).
No codes are showing, but there is no reverse.
After filling the fluid, the vehicle was backed up a few feet, then run forward.
After stopping and shifting into reverse, the engine reved like in neuitral. No reverse at all.
Any suggestions? |

Check the adjustment of the manual valve. The solenoid activation for 1st and reverse are the same, so reverse is actuated mechanically via the manual valve.
There is a slim possibility that the selector switch isn't recognizing reverse and the EV-1 solenoid is remaining activated; check the dash: if you shift into reverse and the instrument cluster indicates reverse is selected, then this is not the issue. _________________

Why not just make a custom set of wires with a Y splice in them. Then you could just run one distributor. |
I don't think electrickery works that way |

check that all valves move freely once installed... to do this you can use a pick to move valves via their ridges (takes a pit of poking around and you don't want to scratch them so... less desirable option.) or remove solenoids and mimic their action by manually pressing the plungers in... this will ensure that none of the new valves are stuck. obviously you could start with solenoid related to reverse (i don't have the chart in front of me).
also worth checking the wiring/connections for the related solenoid.
the pressure setting on the VB needs adjusting if you haven't already for the TCU to adjust to the new VB. in my experience this "relearning" actually has a tremendous effect. took me some tries to get it to work but here is the loose guide:

1st and reverse activate the same solenoids. If 1st gear works, then those solenoids, and their related wiring/connections, work. If it's a solenoid issue, it would be in the TCM, so you'd either have to back-probe the relevant circuits to determine whether the TCM is grounding the solenoids like it should, or swap out the TCM.
Did the transmission have reverse before you had the valve-body rebuilt? If not, who suggested rebuilding the valve-body would fix the issue? _________________

All fixed. The shifter was not adjusted correctly.
Thanks to everybody who replied. |
