I’ve tried to do all the research but still can’t tell. Is this an actual VW part or just something sitting on this engine.

I don’t know if it’s hooked up honestly. This is just a picture taken from a Craigslist ad. It does look like it’s mounted on a bracket of some kind however.
I’ve asked for a better shot. I guess I’ll make the drive and go see it in person. _________________ The engine in this car is located in the back as were a lot of older Volkswagon's...(as seen on e-bay) |

It's an Empi accessory oil filter kit. _________________ The problem with reality is that there's no background music !

Looks like it's just sitting there. _________________ Glenn

Well this is the weirdest thing ever. I am from St. Louis. I have personally been in that man's basement about 2 weeks ago and personally touched that engine, whilst buying other tools and bits from him. It is real, it is attached, and it is in fact that EMPI adapter.
You know I'm the real deal because you didn't say anything about location.. but I remember those cams lined up behind the engine.
For what it's worth he's an older guy, a straight shooter and I wished he had more that was useful to me. _________________ 1974 Chenowth 2RL #1244 Street Legal

I don't imagine those helped much. After shutting the engine down, all the oil would run out to the sump area? Leaving a dry filter to fill at starting. Bad idea I think. _________________ '63 Ragtop |
