Hello all. I do not have a VW/Audi but I do have an older (76) BMW. I acquired a bunch of parts for an engine rebuild and much to my surprise I found a VW/Audi Crankshaft in the lot. I cannot for the life of me ID what car it comes from. I AM NOT an engine guy in the sense that I know compression ratios and such. I would love to see this rebuilt crank go to someone who can use it for a reasonable price.

Looks like a water cooled to me. Try posting the numbers in the water cooled section for ID?

Here is a similar crank for sale in the classifieds.

That looks like the '78 only 1.5L "de-stroked" crank as it's missing half of the counterweights. Desirable for autocross racers years ago but not sure if they still carry much value.
