Not a whole lot of "project" there that I can see, looks pretty complete and functional. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

Interior needs help
I want to return to stock upholstery
Stock door panels with no speakers cut into them etc
Probably go to stockish steel wheels, maybe 5.5”
Update exhaust, and the front trunk needs a new liner along with cleaning up wiring
Etc _________________ Doc

It's worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it. Have you tried comparing it to the other twenty-nine 1970 Beetles listed for sale in CA in the classifieds or against what is available in your area on Craigslist? _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

I thought I might get some insight from the experts.
I have been out of the VW scene for about 5 years and unsure of where the market is currently.
Yes anything is only worth what someone might pay for it. _________________ Doc

From what I see, that car is in very good shape. So, if he’s asking top dollar—in the price range of the others for sale in the Samba Classifieds—then I can see it’s worth it ... barring unseen rust issues.
The wheels are stock, they’re for a later Beetle, though. You can sell them off the Samba for more than the earlier rims you want.
The interior looks great, but I get your reasons for wanting to go back to original.
You might want to buy a cheaper ‘70 that isn’t already complete, so that you can make the changes you want with the money you saved.
However, I do like that bug in the picture.

I agree. And would lean more toward the $5k because it is a done car. The sunroof is the magic there- especially with that color. _________________

Traveling to Burlingame CA tomorrow to inspect in person...if it’s as good in person as it is online, and we can strike a deal, it should be coming home with me tomorrow! _________________ Doc

If it's in Burlingame, it's automatically going to add $2000 to the price. Don't get too caught up. I don't think it's worth the price they're asking. _________________ John

That's a "project" car??
It looks pretty damn immaculate to me. Word of advice- do not approach the seller using the term "project car" trying to get money off-- you will piss them off. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

Yea no kidding. I made that mistake once and it basically ended the transaction.
That car looks like a good bit of money and time went into it. The seller will need to know you appreciate it as is. Here in FL that would be a pricey little bug. |

Now living in my garage😀🏁
Interior needs some work...door cards and carpet to start.
Runs pretty well although it really needs a proper distributor.

Congrats. That's a nice car from the looks of it. Also consider moving the fuel filter out of the engine compartment. |
