Found a 1960 single cab in the woods. Dove blue with old market lettering on it. Chassis number is near the end of the bastard engine run, making it one of the last ones. Fairly complete body wise, very rusty from sitting for at least 30 years. There is a stone wall in the way, other than that, should be fairly easy to get to the road. Is it worth it? Rolling Eyes

Can't do pictures yet. What I mean is if I can get this thing out in one piece, will someone want to buy it? What is a rusty single cab made at the end of the bastard engine run worth? Is it rare and desirable enough to save? I don't want to restore it, just maybe pass it on to someone who can, if I can secure it.

Just get it and worry about the resale later. Nobody in the hobby is ever upside down with a good story to tell.

The parts values thrown at you with the truck still in the woods ALWAYS differ from the prices folks are willing to PAY once your bus hits the parts for sale ads... Wink

It's definitely in better shape than that one, but still real rough. This one has every door and gate still on it. It has dove blue paint with old lettering, it was a food market delivery truck. Haven't found anything out about the market yet, just need to find the right older person who remembers it. This truck still has the transaxle and it's on four wheels, there is a small bit of daylight under it, so it hasn't been sitting totally on the ground. Oh how it makes me wonder

... found my '60 in 1995, for $350. The guy who was with me, suggested I don't waste my money... bought it anyway... what a great truck it's been.

Lots of great parts on that. May even be repairable. GET IT

I'm getting this as soon as the ground gets a little drier.

Did I also happen to mention that there is a 64 Kombi next to this truck? It's in even worse shape, the roof pillars are a little tweaked, but it's mostly there. Lotta parts on it, not worth saving, alas.

Or is it 63? It has the small rear window with oval tail lights. Change over year, am I right?

Im fixing one that was worse then both of them. So there are crazy people out there lol. The bumpers and humpback front seat in that standard bus are worth more then what im sure you’ll pay for the bus. Id say pull them both. Try to sell the truck whole and part out the bus.

This ^^^

Don't even take the time to type more crap here.

Just go get them and update this thread with them on the trailer at the first gas stop. It's customary.
