Clean living and pure thoughts have obviously kept my ball in the cage. My '89 has over 200k, too. I'm just blessed and of course self-righteous by nature. _________________ Casey--

They just sent me a note that someone bought the 15 they had in stock. Looks like someone around here saw our thread and possibly bought them all up. Keep an eye out on the parts threads to see if they show up at an amazing price..... If the purchaser is watching this send me a PM so I can buy one. |

Vino did you to get a shipping notice? If your friend is not interested I will absolutely buy his from you. I have my new gas tank, lines and expansion tanks going in soon and would love to get this part to complete things if possible.
I am doing brake and clutch hardlines too while its all out. |

Yes, I edited the title and apparently pump nozzles vary depending upon where you are in California?
I don't know if it is a manufacturer variation or a relaxed emission mandate for a given county?
Some work...... some don't.
We have vapor boots here in NJ and never had a problem with them beyond the obvious being annoying to use!

I'm in San Diego so I'm sure if the pumps were the issue I'd have it. I'm betting people with the issue have a problem with the fuel expansion tank system somewhere. I refurbed that too when I put in the check valve.
I'll report back if I run into issues when I start road tripping again.......I need new heads atm so van is yard art. |

If you just can't wait, I found the Perko fuel system check valve kit in stock at Willie Boats. Includes the 1.5" diameter check valve and vent line surge protector for $59.99, or $73 shipped to VA. Too rich for my blood.

Hardin Marine cancelled my order this morning, so hoping someone can help find another sales channel:) _________________ '85 Westfalia 1.9L

Surferboy120 I Think I got lucky they say there on the way. But I talked to my friend and he was stoked I had a fix for the burp. I wish I had another to send your way. Mark _________________ what a long strange trip it's been |

the ball comes out when someone stuffs a tube in the tank to siphon fuel out of it.
either for nefarious or utility purposes.

That's not a fix, that's a preventative measure.
Honestly, looking at the fuel line condition and clamp crimps, I'm the first to remove it....... no ball.
The ball was in the tank but out of the cage.
Why does the ball come out?

I called Perko in Miami today.
I talked to their sales department, they are baffled why these valves are so hard to find.
They are NOT discontinued and he indicates they are in stock, five to a wholesale pack.
He says go to their website and see who has them. They market to the marine industry so that is where you will find them for sale.
Dave |
I made a lot of calls today and was told by 5 suppliers that they are out of stock with no ETA for restock. Some disconnect here.... _________________ '85 Westfalia 1.9L
