Of course if you have U.S. spec bumpers, I guess you don't really need one!

A Little off topic but my 68 has pre 67 bumpers, tail lights, turn signals, ripped off the rubber dash, low back seats, basically anything I could do to make it look less like a fat chick.

To each their own, but I think the '68-'69 beetles are the best looking since the '58-'59 models. They're definitely tidier/neater than the '67 or the '70 models. That said, the lower models in Europe retained the blade bumpers for '68 (and a few years beyond) and look fine with them.

I'm visualizing starting with 64 steel sunroof possibaly mango green, garnet red or volvo amazon midnight blue.

early bullet fenders (nicer shape)

'61 half/ half tail lights.

w decklid.

euro spec bumpers.

356a brakes.

356 carrera rims.

empi E-Z-R shifter.

68 speedo with fuel gauge.

standard trimless dash parts.

okrasa motor.

59 down steering column.

flat dish leather rimmed formula steering wheel (looks like a speedwell but flat and leather)

popouts.

standard style headliner in the australia only 59-63? material.

split era map net colour matched to the headliner.

58/9 coloured plastic interior sunvisors.

split window ribbed trim and oval aluminium window trim to match.

40hp box with a zf and long axles to widen the rear track.

60s style fixed back buckets with seperate headrests.

etc.
